If you should know anything about Bridge for Billions, it’s that our overarching goal is to democratize entrepreneurship. We want anyone who has an idea for a business, especially those with a positive social impact, to have the opportunity to make their business come to life — no matter where in the world they may be from. And it’s with that singular vision in mind that we seek out partnerships with organizations that can help us reach a broader audience of people who can benefit from our platform.
We teamed up with Coca-Cola to create an entrepreneurship program that would break the barriers that limit the entrepreneurial capacity of women in rural areas. That program: Gira Mujeres.
During the program, the entrepreneurs learned about such topics as:
-
Idea and strategy
-
How to sell their product/service
-
Human resources and legal issues
-
How to scale their business
-
How to finance their venture
-
How to pitch their business plan
Being an entrepreneur can come with many challenges, but women in particular can run into a unique set of problems in what has traditionally been a male-dominated space. And while it is true that significant progress has been made in recent years, there is still a long way to go to eliminate this social gap. Supporting the entrepreneurship and employability of women are two of the main ways to achieve this – and that is what we strive to do in partnership with Coca-Cola. As such, Gira Mujeres participants receive personal and professional training and support for their business idea linked to the food and beverage sector.
